Describe your activity
Give AskMe the context it needs to design a great activity. All fields are required.
Manual Entry
i
What are Learning Outcomes? Specific, measurable things a learner should be able to do or demonstrate after completing this activity. AskMe uses these to shape the scenario, questions, and coaching focus.
  • Phrase as capabilities, not topics — "Apply X to Y" beats "Understand X"
  • 1–3 outcomes is ideal; more dilutes the focus
  • Be concrete — vague outcomes produce generic activities
i
What are Key Concepts? The frameworks, models, terms, and vocabulary AskMe should recognize and reinforce in its coaching — even when learners don't use the exact words.
  • Include the specific names you use in your course (e.g. "influence-interest matrix", not just "stakeholder mapping")
  • Add any common misconceptions AskMe should watch for and correct
  • The more precise, the more on-target the coaching will be
i
What is Lesson Context? The raw source material this activity is based on — transcript, slide notes, article, or key content from your lesson. AskMe reads this to write scenarios and coaching language grounded in your course.
  • More detail = more accurate, on-brand output
  • A full transcript works great; even bullet-point notes help
  • Don't clean it up — paste it as-is, AskMe handles the rest

Refine Activity
i
How does Refine Activity work? Rather than editing the HTML directly, you describe the change you want and AskMe rewrites the activity for you — preserving structure, style, and learning intent while making the adjustment.
  • Be specific: "Replace the scenario with a healthcare team missing a deadline" works better than "make it more realistic"
  • One change at a time: Focused requests produce cleaner results than multi-part instructions
  • Chain refinements: Apply several in sequence — each one builds on the last
  • Use Quick refinements for the most common adjustments — they include pre-built prompts optimised for each change type
Quick refinements:
Coaching Prompts
These two prompts are AskMe's private briefing — learners never see them. Together they define what AskMe knows about the activity and how it responds to each learner.

⚠ Auto-generated. These prompts are written by AskMe and tuned for this activity. Edit only if you know what you're changing — modifications may affect coaching quality.

Learner Context (Pre-Prompt)
i
What is the Pre-Prompt? Sent to AskMe before it reads the learner's response. It describes the activity — what the learner just watched or read, what the question is asking for, and what a strong response looks like. The better this context, the more accurately AskMe can evaluate whether the learner actually understood the material.
  • Write in third person — "The learner just watched a video on…" not "You just watched…"
  • Summarise the key ideas from the lesson the response should reflect
  • Describe what a strong response looks like so AskMe knows what to reward
Coaching Instructions (Close-Prompt)
i
What is the Close-Prompt? Sent after the learner's response. It tells AskMe how to coach — tone, structure, what to validate, what to push back on, and how to close.
  • Tone: "Be warm but direct" or "Challenge shallow answers"
  • Structure: "Use numbered sections: evaluation, key insight, next step"
  • Length: "Keep coaching to 3–4 focused paragraphs"
  • Closing move: "Always end with one concrete action the learner can take"
